The one real difference: a comparison group

Every vendor above that reports an improvement shows a before-and-after number. None of them describes measuring businesses that made no change over the same weeks. Without that, a rise after a fix cannot be told apart from a model update or the ordinary run-to-run swing of AI answers, which is large: in one study of 2,961 runs, the same list of brands came back less than 1% of the time.

LegitGeo's verdicts subtract what the comparison group did in the same weeks, and say so when a fix did nothing. How we prove it sets out the method and its limits.

When another tool is the better choice

  • You want listings, citations, reviews and AI tracking in one low-cost bundle: BrightLocal includes AI tracking from about $31 a location.
  • You need answers sampled from every map pin across a service area today: Local Falcon does that; LegitGeo does not sample by map pin yet.
  • You are an enterprise brand that needs many engines, SSO and SOC 2: Profound is built for that buyer.
  • You only want the cheapest prompt tracking: Otterly.AI starts at $29 a month.
  • You need to know whether a specific change worked: that is what LegitGeo is for.

Comparing AI visibility tools: frequently asked questions

Is LegitGeo a BrightLocal alternative?

For AI visibility, yes, but it does a different job. BrightLocal tracks answers and manages listings; LegitGeo tracks answers and gives each change you make a verdict against businesses that changed nothing.

Why does LegitGeo cost more per question than some trackers?

A plan includes verified lift: a verdict on every change, measured against a comparison group. Plain tracking is cheaper elsewhere, and the comparison above says where.

Do these comparisons go out of date?

Yes. Every fact was checked on October 20, 2026 on the vendor's own pages, linked in the table and the sources. If something has changed, email hello@legitgeo.com and we will correct it.
