Create schema markup, an llms.txt file and other fixes

GEO Tools write things you add to your own site, such as schema markup, an llms.txt file and a fact sheet, and also score a page and suggest titles and keywords.

Updated

What GEO Tools make

GEO stands for generative engine optimization: making your site easy for AI assistants to read and quote. GEO Tools has six tools: Page score, Schema markup, llms.txt, Fact sheet, Title ideas and Keyword ideas.

LegitGeo does not change your website. You copy, download or upload each result yourself, or send it to whoever manages your site. To measure whether a change helped, log it on Proof once it is live.

Each Generate or Score this page uses one tool run: 100 a month on Local, 400 on Growth and 1,000 on Agency. Opening a recent result again is free.

Score a page

Page score is a quick check of one page: a score out of 100 and the checks it failed. Site Audit, which checks a page against 47 checks and writes fixes you can copy, is listed in the sidebar but cannot run audits yet.

  1. In the sidebar, under Optimization, select GEO Tools.

  2. Select Page score.

  3. Check the Page address. It starts with your website; change it to score another page.

  4. Select Score this page.

  5. Read the score out of 100 and the summary. Each section below lists the checks that failed and how to fix them, or says All checks pass.

GEO Tools (1), Page score (2), Page address (3), Score this page (4) and the result (5). Example business, captured October 23, 2026.
GEO Tools with Page score selected: the page address, the Score this page button and a result of 58 out of 100 with the checks to fix.

Create schema markup

Schema markup is a short block of code, called JSON-LD, that tells search engines and AI assistants your business name, type, address, phone and hours in a form they cannot misread.

  1. Select Schema markup.

  2. Choose Read my website to fill it in from your Website, or Enter details to type it yourself.

  3. Pick a Business type, the most specific one that fits, for example Dentist, LegalService, AutoRepair or Plumber.

  4. If you chose Enter details, fill in Business name, Phone, Email, the address, Short description, Opening hours (one per line, like Mo-Fr 08:00-18:00) and Profile links (one per line).

  5. Select Generate.

  6. Select Copy, or Download to save it as schema.html.

Schema markup (1), Read my website or Enter details (2), Business type (3), Generate (5), and Copy and Download (6). Example business, captured October 23, 2026.
The Schema markup tool with Read my website selected, the Business type menu set to Plumber, and generated JSON-LD for a plumber with Copy and Download buttons.

Paste the code into the <head> (the part of the page’s code that visitors do not see) of your homepage, or of the page it describes, or send it to whoever manages your website. Then check it with Google’s Rich Results Test. Check every value before you publish it.

Create an llms.txt file

An llms.txt file is a short plain-text summary of your business and your most important pages, placed at the root of your website for AI tools to read.

  1. Select llms.txt.

  2. Fill in Website and Business name. One-sentence summary is optional; leave it empty to use your homepage description.

  3. Leave Find my pages automatically ticked so LegitGeo finds your main pages.

  4. Select Generate. With Find my pages automatically ticked, it can take up to a minute.

  5. Select Download, then upload the file to your website so it opens at yourdomain.com/llms.txt.

llms.txt (1), Business name (2), Find my pages automatically (3), Generate (4) and Download (5). Example business, captured October 23, 2026.
The llms.txt tool with the website and business name filled in, Find my pages automatically ticked, and a generated llms.txt file with Copy and Download.
Tip

If your Diagnosis fix list includes Publish an llms.txt file, mark it Done once the file is live, then select Run again on Diagnosis to confirm it. See Work through your fix list.

Write a fact sheet

  1. Select Fact sheet.

  2. Fill in Business name and as many of Services, Service area, Phone, Hours, Pricing, Licenses & insurance and What makes you different as you can.

  3. Select Generate.

You get questions and answers about your business that AI assistants can repeat, ready for an About or FAQ page. Answers marked fill in need details only you have; complete them before you publish. Select Copy all, or Download to save fact-sheet.md.

Get title and keyword ideas

  1. For page titles, select Title ideas, fill in Topic, and if you like Audience (optional) and How many (up to 20), then select Generate. Each title has its own Copy.

  2. For keywords, select Keyword ideas, fill in Seed keywords (separated by commas), Location and Business type, then select Generate. Select Copy all, or CSV for a spreadsheet.

Open a recent result again

Under the result, Recent lists the last five runs of the tool that is open. Select one to see its result again. This does not use a tool run.

Frequently asked questions

Does LegitGeo add the schema markup or llms.txt file to my site?

No. You, or whoever manages your website, add them. LegitGeo writes them and then checks them in your next Diagnosis.

What happens when I run out of tool runs?

You can still open your recent results. New runs wait until your allowance resets, or you can upgrade your plan.
