Upgrade or downgrade your plan
An admin changes plan in Settings under Billing. After the free trial, an upgrade charges the difference straight away and a downgrade credits it to your next invoice.
Only an admin can change the plan. Everyone else sees the current plan on the Billing tab with the note “Only an account admin can change the plan, cancel or manage billing.” Plans stay billed monthly when you change.
Upgrade to a bigger plan
Select your name at the bottom of the left sidebar to open Settings.
Select Billing. Current Plan shows your plan, its price and the date it renews.
The Billing tab (2). Current Plan shows the plan, its status, its price and Renews on. Demo account, October 23, 2026. Under Change Plan, on the plan you want, select Upgrade to followed by the plan’s name, for example Upgrade to Agency.
The upgrade button (3) is at the bottom of each bigger plan’s card. Demo account, October 23, 2026. Read the dialog, which names the new price, and select Confirm Change.
Select Confirm Change (4) to switch. Demo account, October 23, 2026.
You see “Plan updated successfully.” The difference for the rest of this billing month is charged to your card straight away, and the bigger limits apply as soon as that payment goes through. Your questions switch to the new plan’s AI assistants from their next check.
During your free trial nothing is charged now: you move to the new plan straight away and pay its price when the trial ends.
If the payment fails you see “The upgrade payment did not go through, so your plan has not changed. Update your card under Manage Billing and try again.” See Update your card.
Agency costs more than Growth but asks four AI assistants, not six. Moving from Growth to Agency removes Google AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot from every question. Compare plans first.
Downgrade to a smaller plan
In Settings, select Billing.
Under Change Plan, select Downgrade to followed by the plan’s name, for example Downgrade to Local.
Select Confirm Change.
The plan changes straight away and the unused part of this month’s price is credited to your next invoice. During your free trial there is nothing to credit: you pay the smaller plan’s price when the trial ends. If the smaller plan asks fewer AI assistants, they are removed from your questions.
If the smaller plan doesn’t fit
You can’t downgrade while you have more businesses or tracked question locations than the smaller plan allows. The message names the numbers, for example: “The Local plan includes 1 brand and 25 tracked prompt locations. You have 3 and 40. Remove the extra ones, then change the plan.”
Delete the businesses you no longer need. See Pause or delete a business.
Delete questions, or locations from them, until you are within the limit. See Add, edit or pause a question.
Change the plan again.
Paused businesses and paused questions still count toward the limit. Only deleting them frees up room, and deleting can’t be undone.
