Work through your Action Center actions

The Actions tab turns what changed into a short to-do list, ranked by the KPI goals you set, that you can assign, give a due date and track task by task.

Updated

How actions work

Every night, after LegitGeo asks the AI assistants your questions, it looks for changes worth acting on, such as a competitor overtaking you or citations you lost. These are listed on the Signals tab. Related signals are grouped into a few actions on the Actions tab, each with a goal and a checklist of tasks, and ranked by your KPI goals.

There are deliberately few actions. If you have none yet, you see No actions yet: they appear after the daily tracking runs, once there is meaningful work to do. Every plan includes the Action Center.

Set the KPI goals that rank your actions

KPIs are the numbers you want to move, such as how often AI assistants name you. The Action Center opens on the KPIs tab.

  1. In the sidebar, select Action Center.

  2. Select Configure KPIs the first time, or Edit KPIs after that.

Action Center in the sidebar (1) and Edit KPIs (2). Example business, captured October 23, 2026.
The KPIs tab of the Action Center with five KPIs, their values, status and progress toward each goal.
  3. Under 1 · Choose KPI template, select AI Search Visibility, or Custom Framework to choose your own. Content Performance and Brand Monitoring are not available yet.

  4. Under 2 · Set goals & targets, choose a Time period: Weekly, Monthly or Quarterly.

  5. Under Targets, tick each KPI you want to track and type its target.

  6. Select Save & Apply. You see “KPI framework applied.”

The templates (3), Time period (4), Targets (5) and Save & Apply (6). Example business, captured October 23, 2026.
The Configure KPI Framework panel with the KPI templates, the time period menu, the targets list and Save & Apply.

The KPIs you can track are AI Visibility, Citations, Mentions, Share of Voice and AI Referral Traffic. AI Referral Traffic counts visits that arrive from AI assistants, so it needs AI traffic tracking on your site.

The KPI table shows each one’s Value, Change, Status (On Track, At Risk, Off Track or Goal Reached), Goal and vs Goal. To change or remove one KPI, open the menu at the end of its row and select Edit KPI or Remove KPI.

Note

Only admins and managers can change KPIs. A target must be above zero, and a percentage target cannot be over 100.

See what to do first

  1. Select the Actions tab.

  2. Read the cards at the top: Top Actions, At Risk, Opportunities, In Progress and Potential Impact. Select a card to show only the actions it counts, and select it again to show them all.

  3. To narrow the list, select a category, such as Recover or Fix, or use Impact:, Status: and Assignee:.

  4. To change the order, open Sort: and choose Priority, Impact, Newest, Due date or Recently updated.

The Actions tab (1), the cards (2), a category (3) and Sort: (4). Example business, captured October 23, 2026.
The Actions tab with five summary cards, category buttons, filters and a list of actions with their impact, status, assignee and due date.

Each row shows how many of the action’s tasks are done, for example 1/8 tasks, and its Impact, Status, Assignee and Due date. Your filters stay in the page address, so you can bookmark or share the view. To download the rows shown, select Export CSV.

Open an action and assign it

  1. Select an action in the list. A panel opens on its Overview tab.

  2. Read Why this action? and Goal.

  3. Under KPIs, see which of your KPI goals the action works toward.

  4. Under Primary signals, select a signal to see the change behind the action.

  5. At the bottom of the panel, set Status to In Progress when work starts. The other choices are New, On Hold, Completed and Dismissed.

  6. Choose a Due date.

  7. Choose an Assignee: a teammate, or Unassigned.

Why this action? (2), KPIs (3), Primary signals (4), Status (5), Due date (6) and Assignee (7). Example business, captured October 23, 2026.
An open action, Close the visibility gap with 1 competitor, showing why it exists, its goal, two KPIs, two signals and the Status, Due date and Assignee controls.

Changes save at once, and the action’s History tab records each one. To assign actions to teammates, first invite them.

Work through the tasks

  1. In the action’s panel, select the Tasks tab. It shows how many tasks are done, for example 1 / 8 tasks completed.

  2. Set each task’s status in its menu, for example To Do, In Progress or Completed.

  3. If you choose Skipped, type the reason in Why was this skipped?, for example handled elsewhere, and select Skip task.

  4. To add your own task, select Add task, type what needs doing and select Add.

The Tasks tab (1), a task’s status (2) and Add task (4). Example business, captured October 23, 2026.
The Tasks tab of an action: eight numbered tasks, each with a status menu, and an Add task button.

To rename a task, select its text, type the new name and press Enter. To remove one, select its bin icon. Skipped and failed tasks do not count toward progress.

LegitGeo carries out some tasks itself overnight. The action’s History tab then says the task was carried out automatically, or that the automatic attempt failed and it needs doing by hand.

Finish an action

  1. When the work is done, set the action’s Status to Completed.

The action shows as Completed in the list and appears on the History tab. The next night it also appears on Proof with the source Action Center, where LegitGeo measures its verified lift: whether AI assistants named you more often in the four weeks after than before, compared with similar businesses that changed nothing in the same weeks. See Find out whether a fix worked.

Completing or dismissing an action makes room for new ones. If the same problem comes back later, a new action can appear, or the old one is reopened and its History tab says so.

Review past actions

  1. Select the History tab.

  2. Choose a time range: 7d, 30d, 90d or All. You can also filter by Status:, Type:, Impact: and Source:.

  3. Select an action to see What was the goal?, What happened? and Result.

The History tab (1), the time range (2) and an action’s Result (3). Example business, captured October 23, 2026.
The History tab with counts of completed, in progress and dismissed actions and a list of past actions with their result.

For a completed action, Result compares the 7 days before the action was created with the 7 days after it was completed. It fills in about 8 days after you complete it; until then it shows Not measured. Then it shows Improved, No meaningful change (a move under 5%) or Declined, or Not measurable if there was no data to compare.

Dismissed actions are not measured and keep showing Not measured.

Important

The History result is a quick before-and-after check, not the verdict on Proof. The Proof verdict uses four weeks on each side and a comparison with businesses that changed nothing.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I only have a few actions?

On purpose. The Action Center groups related signals and creates an action only when there is meaningful work to do.

Where do actions come from besides signals?

You can also send a content opportunity to the Action Center. See Find pages to write or improve.
