Send LegitGeo alerts to Zapier, Make or n8n
Add a webhook address to a business and LegitGeo sends each Daily Pulse, SEO alert and chatbot lead to your own tools, plus any content opportunity you send.
What a webhook does
A webhook is a web address that your automation tool gives you. LegitGeo sends a short message to it each time something happens, and your tool can then post to Slack, add a row to a sheet or create a task.
Webhooks are on the Local, Growth and Agency plans. Each business has its own webhook address, set on its Content page.
Admins and managers can set up the webhook. Anyone else who tries to save one sees Failed to save webhook config.
Connect a webhook
First add a webhook trigger to a workflow in Zapier, Make or n8n, and copy the address it gives you. Then check that the business you want is chosen at the top of the LegitGeo sidebar.
In the sidebar, under Optimization, select Content.
Select Webhook Settings.
Content (1) and Webhook Settings (2). Captured October 23, 2026, from the demo business Harborline Plumbing. Paste the address into Webhook URL.
Webhook URL (3), Secret Key (optional) (4), Active (5), Test Webhook (6) and Save Webhook (7). The address is an example. Captured October 23, 2026, from the demo business Harborline Plumbing. If you want, type a password of your own in Secret Key (optional). LegitGeo sends the secret with each message so your tool can check it really came from LegitGeo. Whoever builds the workflow finds it in the
X-Webhook-Secretheader.Leave the switch on Active.
Select Test Webhook. LegitGeo sends a test message (
webhook.test), and you see Webhook responded successfully! when your tool answers.Select Save Webhook. You see Webhook saved!
The address must be public. If it has a number after a colon (its port), such as :5678, that number must be 80, 443, 8080 or 8443. Addresses on your own computer or office network, or on another port, are refused with “Use a public http(s) address on port 80, 443, 8080 or 8443.” Zapier and Make addresses meet this.
What LegitGeo sends
Each message is a small block of data in JSON, a format Zapier, Make and n8n read without extra setup (for the builder: a JSON POST request). Its event field says what happened. You cannot pick events; your tool can filter on event instead.
daily_pulse.created: each Daily Pulse, with the numbers, highlights and warnings. It follows the frequency in Settings, Notifications, and is sent even when nobody gets the email.
seo.alert: after a site crawl, when your site’s health score drops or new broken pages appear.
lead.created: a new lead from the Lead Chatbot, with the visitor’s name, email and phone.
opportunity.sent: a content opportunity you send yourself with Send on its row, or Send to Workflow inside it.
Pause or change the webhook
Open Webhook Settings again, change the address or switch Active off, then select Save Webhook.
Frequently asked questions
The test failed. What now?
The red box under the address says why, for example an error code from your tool or an address that is not allowed. Check that the workflow in your tool is on and waiting for a request, then select Test Webhook again.
