Find out whether a fix worked
Proof compares the answers each change should move with answers it could not have touched, so you can see whether the change itself made AI assistants name you more often. LegitGeo calls a clear rise verified lift.
What Proof tells you
Proof answers one question for every change you make: did it change how often AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overview, Perplexity and Gemini name or cite your business?
Looking at your answers before and after a change is not enough, because answers also move for reasons that have nothing to do with you, such as a model update or a busy season. So Proof also measures, in the same weeks, answers your change could not have touched. Whatever moved those is taken out. What is left is the effect of your change.
Those answers are your own answers on the assistants or questions the change was not aimed at, and other businesses LegitGeo tracks that changed nothing in those weeks: your other locations or brands in the same LegitGeo account, or businesses on the same platform as you. If you have none of those, Proof can use other tracked businesses on the same assistants, but only when there are at least 5 of them from 3 different LegitGeo accounts. If there is nothing at all to compare with, the result is just your own before and after, and it cannot be Verified.
When the effect is a clear rise, LegitGeo calls it verified lift: assistants named you more often after the change, by more than a model update, a busy season or chance can explain.
Proof is on every plan: Local, Growth and Agency. It reads answers LegitGeo has already collected, so it uses nothing from your plan’s monthly allowances.
Where your changes come from
You do not have to enter most changes yourself. The line under each change’s title says where it came from:
Diagnosis fix: a fix you marked done on the Diagnosis page. See Work through your fix list.
Action Center: an action you completed. See Work through your Action Center actions.
Logged by your team: something you changed outside LegitGeo and recorded yourself, or that an AI tool connected to your account recorded for you. See Log a change you made.
Reported by your platform: a change that a platform you work through, such as a booking marketplace, reported to LegitGeo for you.
When each kind first appears is in How long a verdict takes.
See your changes and where each one stands
In the sidebar, under Optimization, select Proof.
Proof in the sidebar (1), the summary line (2), a change’s pill (3) and the line under its title (4). Demo business, captured October 23, 2026. Read the line above the list, for example “5 changes · 1 verified · 2 still measuring”.
Look at the pill beside each title: Measuring while the change is still being measured, Planned for a change you planned but have not made yet, Left out for one you took out of measurement, or the verdict once it is finished.
Read the line under the title. It says where the change came from, the day it went live, which assistants it is aimed at and, if it is aimed at certain questions, how many. “Aimed at every engine” means every assistant your plan tracks.

A finished change shows its verdict, a number such as “+18 points” and the range around it. What each verdict means explains how to read them.
If a change has no Comparison answers track under Your answers, there was nothing to compare it with, and its number is just your own before and after.
Proof updates every change still being measured each night. To update one now, or to work a finished verdict out again, select Measure now on it: see How long a verdict takes.

At the bottom of the Proof page, select How proof works. Four short paragraphs explain the time windows, the comparison, the verdict rules and the statistics.
Select How proof works (1) to open it. Demo business, captured October 23, 2026. For the full method, open How we prove it on legitgeo.com.
What Proof does not measure
The verdict is about AI answers: the share of answers that name or cite your business. It does not count calls, bookings or revenue.
A change is measured exactly as it was entered. If its go-live date or its assistants are wrong, the result is wrong too.
On one business, a small effect usually ends as Not proven. That is an honest “cannot tell”, not a fault. The lift library combines the same kind of fix across many businesses, which can show smaller effects.
The result on the History tab of Action Center is a quick comparison of the 7 days before and the 7 days after an action. It is not a Proof verdict, which uses four-week windows and a comparison.
Frequently asked questions
Does Proof cost extra or use my allowance?
No. Proof is included on every plan and reads answers LegitGeo has already collected, so it uses nothing from your monthly allowances.
Can Proof tell me whether a change brought in more calls?
No. It measures what AI assistants say about your business, not calls, bookings or revenue.
Where can I see how many verdicts there are so far?
The lift library shows each kind of fix, with its average effect, once enough businesses have measured it. It is public on How we prove it, together with the method.
