Compare yourself with your competitors

Add the businesses you compete with, see your share of voice against them, and compare your scores question by question.

Updated

Add a competitor

Every answer is checked for the competitors you add as well as for you. There is no limit on how many you add, on any plan. Competitors has no item in the sidebar; you reach it from Visibility.

  1. Open Visibility, then select Head-to-Head Comparison on the Leaderboard card.

    Head-to-Head Comparison (1). Made-up demo business, captured October 23, 2026.
The Visibility page with the Leaderboard card ranking four businesses, and the Head-to-Head Comparison link in its corner.
  2. On Competitors, select Add Competitor.

  3. Type the business’s Name and its website Domain, such as irvinepipeworks.example.

  4. Select Add.

    Name (3), Domain (4) and Add (5). Made-up demo business, captured October 23, 2026.
The Add Competitor window with Irvine Pipe Works as the name, irvinepipeworks.example as the domain, and the Add button.

LegitGeo looks for the competitor in answers from the next check onward; earlier answers are not read again for it. Its numbers start after the next nightly check.

You can also add a competitor in your business’s settings, on the Competitors tab, or from Citations with + next to a website. See See which websites AI assistants cite.

See your share of voice

Share of voice is your share of all the times businesses were named: your mentions divided by yours plus your competitors’. It only counts the competitors you added.

  1. On Visibility, scroll down to Share of Voice by Platform for your share on each assistant.

  2. Read Share of Voice Trend beside it to see how your share changed over the period.

Share of Voice by Platform (1) and Share of Voice Trend (2). The demo business asks its questions on four assistants. Made-up demo business, captured October 23, 2026.
The Share of Voice by Platform card with an overall share of 14.4% and the Share of Voice Trend chart beside it.

The Leaderboard above them ranks you and your competitors by the same visibility score. Select a competitor there to open the comparison with them.

Compare question by question

  1. On Competitors, under Tracked Competitors, select a competitor’s card.

  2. Read Your Avg. Score, Their Avg. Score and Score Difference, then Platform Breakdown for each assistant.

  3. Select Gaps for the questions where they beat you, or Strengths for the ones where you lead.

The selected competitor (1), the three scores (2), Platform Breakdown (3) and Gaps (4). Made-up demo business, captured October 23, 2026.
The Competitors page with Bayview Rooter and Drain selected, the three score cards, the Platform Breakdown and the Gaps list.
  4. Under Prompt-by-Prompt Comparison, select a question to see each assistant.

    A question opened in Prompt-by-Prompt Comparison (5). Made-up demo business, captured October 23, 2026.
The Prompt-by-Prompt Comparison list with one question open, showing your score and the competitor’s on each assistant.

These scores are not the visibility score. Head-to-head averages each answer’s own score, so its numbers are lower than the Visibility score and will not match the Leaderboard. Use it to compare question by question.

Scores on Competitors cover the last 30 days. Each Gaps and Strengths row shows your score and theirs for that question. To download the comparison, select Export CSV; see Export your data to a spreadsheet.

Remove a competitor

  1. On Competitors, select the bin icon (Delete) on the competitor’s card.

  2. Select Yes, remove competitor.

LegitGeo stops looking for the competitor. Past answers still contain its name, but they are no longer counted for it.

Frequently asked questions

A competitor shows “No data”. Why?

It has not been checked yet, or no answer named it in the last 30 days. Its data comes with the next nightly check.

Which competitors should I add?

The businesses your customers call instead of you, and the ones the answers already name. Read a few answers in Prompts to see who comes up.
