Team roles: change a teammate’s role or remove them

What Admin, Manager, Analyst and Agency Partner can each do, and how an admin changes someone’s role or removes them.

Updated

What each role can do

Admin can do everything: change the plan, cancel and manage billing, invite and remove people, change roles, rename the organization, add the Anthropic key that turns on Chat, pause tracking and delete a business. The person who created the organization is an admin, and you can have more than one.

Manager can change businesses, questions, topics, competitors and content, and change Daily Pulse settings. Managers can’t touch billing or the team.

Analyst can see everything and change nothing. New invitations use this role unless you pick another.

Agency Partner has the same view-only access as Analyst today.

Anyone who is not an admin sees the plan on the Billing tab with the note “Only an account admin can change the plan, cancel or manage billing.”

Important

Any role, Analyst included, can create its own API key under API Keys in Settings. A key can run the same tools as the dashboard, such as writing a content brief, whatever the person’s role. Only invite people you trust with your account. See Connect an AI tool.

Choose a role when you invite someone

  1. In Settings, select Team, then Invite member.

  2. Open Role and choose Admin, Manager, Analyst or Agency Partner.

The four roles (2). Analyst is chosen unless you change it. Demo account, October 23, 2026.
The Role list open in the Invite a team member dialog, showing Admin, Manager, Analyst with a check mark, and Agency Partner.

Then enter their email and send the invitation. Invite teammates has the full steps.

Change a teammate’s role

Only admins can change roles.

  1. Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar to open Settings, then select Team.

Select Team (1). A teammate’s role is a menu at the right of their row (2). Your own row shows a label instead, because you can’t change your own role. Demo account, October 23, 2026.
The Team tab in Settings with two people: the signed-in admin, whose role Admin is a plain label, and a teammate whose role menu, set to Manager, is outlined.
  2. In your teammate’s row, open the menu that shows their current role.

  3. Choose the new role. You see “Role updated”.

The new role applies the next time your teammate opens or reloads a page.

Note

You can’t change your own role. Ask another admin to do it.

Remove a teammate

  1. In Settings, select Team.

  2. In your teammate’s row, select the bin button.

  3. In Remove team member?, select Remove member. You see “Member removed”.

They lose access to your organization straight away, and so do any API keys they created. Their login still exists, so if they sign in again they are asked to set up a business of their own. Removing someone can’t be undone; to bring them back, invite them again.

Important

You can’t remove yourself, and there is no button to leave an organization. Ask another admin to remove you.
